Rosewood (Queensland)

Rosewood is a small town in the Bremer Valley in Queensland, Australia. It lies 60 kilometers west of the city of Brisbane and is a station of the Queensland Rail, the rail ( CityRail ) on the Rosewood Railway Line. The light rail station Rosewood is used by commuters to Ipswich or Brisbane.

The origin of the suburb name is from the Rosewood tree (Acacia harpophylla ).

The first coal mine in the Lane Field district, west of Rosewood, became fully operational in 1918. For these mines two railway lines from the Brisbane - Toowoomba Main Line for Lane Field Colliery ( 1934-1965 ) and Westvale Colliery was operated ( 1929-1960 ).
