Rossotrudnichestvo

The Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian Россотрудничество ) is the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, for questions of Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Its task is to promote the knowledge of Russian language abroad, to foster international cultural cooperation and to provide a thorough, current Russia. Furthermore, it will in the so-called " border will ", that is, in the former Soviet republics, represented the interests of the Russian government.

Objectives

The Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, for questions of Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation ( Rossotrudnichestvo ) aims to encourage a global network of Russian state-owned centers in many countries, the Russian language and cultural cooperation. At the same time Rossotrudnichestvo is the Russian point of contact for the independent national friendship societies in these countries.

Since 2008 Rossotrudnichestvo is offensive Moscow's interests represented abroad, particularly in the former Soviet republics, so that the objectives of Rossotrudnichestvo those of the international politically influential U.S. agency approach for International Development (USAID ).

Activity

The Agency currently has 77 Russian centers in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.

Education programs

One focus of the Russian centers is to promote the Russian language in the Diaspora, which includes the provision of language courses and tests, the production of teaching materials and the training of Russian teachers.

Cultural cooperation

Another key task of the Russian centers is the cultural cooperation with other countries in areas such as literature, music, theater, film, dance, exhibitions and translation. To this end, organize the Russian centers in cooperation with partners in host countries programs to cultural and social issues and contribute to the festival. The projects at institutes abroad writers, musicians, artists from Russia interact with and promote the cultural dialogue of the Russian Federation with the world.

Organization

On November 20, President Dmitry Medvedev appointed in 2008 with the decree № 1642 Mubarakschewitsch Farid Mukhametshin, the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, director of Rossotrudnichestvo.

Rossotrudnichestvo has the status of a government agency since 1994.

History

The Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, for questions of Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation ( Rossotrudnichestvo ) was established by the decree № 1315 of the President on 6 September 2008. She took over the activities of the Russian Center for international, scientific and cultural cooperation ( Rossarubeschzentr ) and previous organizations, whose history dates back to 1925.
