Rubén Ayala

Rubén Ayala ( born January 8, 1950 in Santa Fe), also known by the nickname El Raton (Spanish for the mouse), is an Argentine football coach and former player in the position of striker.

Life

Stations as a player

Ayala started his professional career in 1968 at CA San Lorenzo de Almagro, in which he stood until 1973 under contract and with whom he both championship titles (both the Metropolitano and the Nacional) won in 1972.

In the summer of 1973 he moved to the Spanish Primera División for Atlético Madrid, where he played for the next six years and with the rojiblancos won three titles: on 16 April 1975, he scored in the second leg of the World Cup finals ( for 1974 ) against his "home club " Independiente the decisive goal to make it 2-0 in the 85th minute, which meant the title after the 0-1 first leg defeat. In the following season 1975/76 he won with Atlético Spanish Cup competition and a year later the championship.

In 1979 he joined the Mexican Primera División CSD Jalisco. After this was relegated to the end of the 1979/80 season in the second division, Ayala 1980, wrote to the then capital Atlante, in whose ranks he ended his active career in the 1983/84 season.

National

Between 1971 and 1974, Ayala graduated a total of 25 inserts for the Argentine national team, scoring eleven goals. Its main goal was to make the score 3-0 between time in the 55th minute in a 4-1 win over Haiti in the preliminary round of the World Cup 1974. With this goal Ayala contributed significantly to the fact that Argentina, with a goal better goal against Italy to qualify for the second round, while the Azzurri had to go home after the first round.

Teams managed

After the end of his active career Ayala remained in Mexico, where he has worked as a coach. Among the special events of his coaching activities include the descent with the Cobras Querétaro ( 1987) and the rise of the CF Pachuca (1996). With the Tuzos later he won two league titles ( Invierno 2001 and Apertura 2003) as an assistant coach under the direction of Alfredo Tena and Victor Vucetich. In the season 2011/12 Ayala coached the Pachuca - farm team Titanes de Tulancingo, with whom he won both the Apertura 2011 Clausura and the 2012 Segunda División.
