Rudolf Krause (footballer)

Rudolf Krause ( born January 21, 1927 in Leipzig, † December 12, 2003 ibid ) was soccer players and soccer coaches in the GDR. He was a PhD educator, qualified sports teachers and graduate lawyer.

First years in Leipzig

With the beginning of the re- regulated after the Second World War football game operation in 1946, Rudolf Krause reported with 19 years in the sports community Stötteritz the east of Leipzig. There he played a season and moved in 1947 to SG Probstheida, a sprawling predecessor of the 1st FC Lok Leipzig and the late 1940s, one of the strongest football teams in Leipzig. BSG Chemie, ZSK forward and SC Lok

Although Rudolf Krause was a successful scorer and dazzling technician, he came only two appearances in the national football team of the GDR. His first was on June 14, 1953 during match against Bulgaria in Dresden ( 0:0). Krause was summoned inside left side storm, but was replaced at halftime by the Briesker Horst Franke. It took three years before Krause got a new chance in the national team. On 20 September 1956, the GDR played in Karl- Marx-Stadt against Indonesia ( 3-1 ). Team coach

After finishing his playing career Krause trained as a football coach and initially looked after the 1961-1963 unterklassige team of steel lip village. Subsequently, he was appointed coach of the newly formed SC Leipzig. Rudolf Krause was appointed in 1979 as an executive coach. Since the GDR was defending champion, she was able to participate without qualification on the final tournament, had previously completed but more than 20 warm-up matches. The GDR selection reached after four wins and a draw the Olympic final, but was defeated there on 2 August 1980 Czechoslovakia 0-1.

After another two -year stint as coach of the junior selection Krause was appointed in 1982 to head coach of the East German national team. It was his job to qualify the team for the European Football Championship 1984. After three defeats in a row against Scotland and twice Belgium, and a goalless draw against Switzerland, the GDR was already failed two laps before the end of the qualifying round. Four days after the Switzerland game Krause was released on 18 May 1983 as a coach. In the 17 games under his leadership, the GDR national team reached 8 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses. Then Rudolf Krause worked as a consultant for the U16 and U18 national teams until his retirement in 1990.
