Rüthnick

Rüthnick is a municipality in the district Ostprignitz -Ruppin in Brandenburg.

Geography

Rüthnick located in the eastern part of the district Ostprignitz -Ruppin between Neuruppin and Kremmen. The municipality belongs to the Office of Lindow (Mark). The administrative headquarters of the Office is located in the city Lindow (Mark).

History

Rüthnick was the first mentioned in 1422, the former name was " Ruthe Nicke ". The original Slavic name goes back to Ruda, which means bog iron, which was found here in the area. From 1422 to 1541 the place belonged to the monastery Lindow Lindow and then to the offices Alt Ruppin ( 1541-1656 ). From 1656 to 1834, the village belonged to the Official Oranienburg, then to 1872 again to the Official Lindow.

In 1954, an LPG type III was formed by the name of "Hope". In 1960 the LPG type I was established with the name " Sandeck ".
