Rzeczyca Wielka

Rzeczyca Wielka ( German Reetz, and 1928 United Reetz ) is a village directly on the eastern border of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the urban and rural community Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the powiat Koszaliński ( Pomerania ).

Geographical location

Rzeczyca located 19 kilometers north-east of the former county town Miastko ( Rummelsburg ) and 40 kilometers east of the present county metropolis Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the province road 206 that leads from Koszalin on Polanów after Miastko. Rail connection is via the six kilometers to railway station Przytocko ( Pritzig ) on the railway line Pila - Ustka ( Schneidemühl - Stolpmünde ). Between 1903 and 1945 Rzeczyca Wielka was even a railway station on the railroad route from Gramenz Zollbrück.

Place name

Our site Reetz ( the name comes in Germany several times before ) was here before 1928 for the distinction of the only two kilometers distant place small Reetz (now Polish: Rzeczyca Mała ) with the suffix " Great " Reetz named. The Polish naming uses this distinction again.

History

Great Reetz is regarded as a settlement in the great conquest of the 16th century. 1717 were here four Kossäten recorded, until the 18th century also appear farmers. Beginning of the 19th century, the outworks Karlshof and Amalienhof were (later also called " Steinberg") created. The fulling mill (Polish: Grzmotnik ) was from 1936 independent settlement.

First owner of Great Reetz was Peter Lettow on Pritzig ( Przytocko ). The property was often shared later in the family, parts came through sale and lease in the possession of members of the family of Glasenapp and from Below. As of 1796, Colonel Karl Ernst von Lettow the sole owner of Great Reetz. It remained until 1945 in the possession of his descendants.

In the year 1812 the United Reetz counted 134 inhabitants. Their number increased to 1843 to 253, 1885 and 1925 was still 225, rose to 330 to 1933 to 1939 and fell to 275 from.

By 1945, Reetz belonged to the district Rummelsburg ( Miastko ) in the district of Koszalin ( Koszalin ) of the Prussian province of Pomerania.

After 1945, it was under the name Rzeczyca Wielka part of Gmina Polanów in powiat Koszaliński in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Koszalin Voivodeship ). The place now counts 300 inhabitants.

Church

Prior to 1945, was the largest part of the population of Reetz Protestant denomination. In the village itself there was then no house of God. The villagers were in the parish Pritzig (now Polish: Przytocko ) the parish, which was one of 1940 a total of 1186 members of the congregation. It was in the church Rummelsburg ( Miastko ) Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. Last German clergyman was Superintendent Friedrich Dittmar.

Since 1945, the population of Rzeczyca Wielka is almost exclusively Catholic. In the village, a church was built in 1998, consecrated in the name of " Mercy of God ". It is a branch church in the parish Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the deanery in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg Polanów of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members are incorporated into the Cross parish in Slupsk ( Stolp ), which belongs to the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland. The closest branch church is the village church in Wołcza Wielka (Great Volz ).

School

Around 1730 a schoolmaster was appointed in Great Reetz, even if no apartment was available. For a long time had to live with farmers, so staffing was also extremely difficult the job holder. From 1796 to 1828 Christoph Eggert was a school Holder, 1927 a new school house was built in the 1937 teacher taught 41 school children.
