Saba Qom F.C.

The Saba Qom FC (Persian باشگاه فوتبال صبای قم ) is an Iranian football club based in Qom.

History

The original club was founded in 1974. However, in 2002 all shares of Saba Battery Co. were sold to a company that is subordinate to the Iranian Defense Ministry. Due to the good financial situation, it was the club able to recruit talented players and rise after two years in the IPL. After winning the National Cup in the 2004/2005 season the club first participated in the AFC Champions League, but did not make it through the group stage.

In the season 2007/2008 the club finished at the end of the third place. Even before the start of the 2008/2009 season Saba Battery moved from Tehran to Qom.
