Sagene

Sagene is a northern district of the Norwegian capital Oslo. It has 32,394 inhabitants (2008 ) and an area of 3.1 km ². The district lies along the Akerselva ( Akerfluss ); of the sawmills and mills used to reside here was named the district. Until the local government reform from 1 January 2004 the district under the name Sagene - Torshov was known. In the novels Oscar Braatens Sagene is perpetuated.
