Saint- Ambroix is a commune with 3401 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Gard of the Languedoc -Roussillon region. It is the capital of the eponymous canton of Saint- Ambroix.

Saint- Ambroix is located on the middle reaches of the tourist-oriented valley of Céze, near Alès. The town lies on the railway line Alès - Bessèges.
