Sambuca Pistoiese

Sambuca Pistoiese is a town in the Tuscan province of Pistoia, with 1694 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It lies about 40 km north of Pistoia in the Apennines, on the border with the region Emilia -Romagna. The municipality covers several villages scattered. The largest are Pavana, Treppio, Torri, Lagacci and Sambuca Castello.

The town has been twinned with the town located in the Western Sahara Amgala, which belongs to the claimed territory of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

Demography

Between 1991 and 2001 the population of Sambuca Pistoiese of 1630 dropped to 1,604.
