Cutigliano
Cutigliano is a municipality with 1547 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Pistoia in the Tuscany region.
Geography
The village is located about 23 km northwest of the provincial capital of Pistoia and about 55 km north- west of the regional capital Florence in the climatic classification of Italian communities in Zone E, 2901 GG.
Cutigliano is located in the mountain chain of the Apennines tosco emiliano on the south side of the mountain Libro Aperto (1937 m) and borders on the region of Emilia -Romagna ( Modena ). Other mountains in the border region are Mount Cervinara (1776 m), the Monte Lancio ( 1702 m) and the Monte Lancino ( 1702 m), each representing the northern boundary of the municipality of the province of Modena.
The most important waters in the municipality are the Torrenti Lima ( 7 of 42 km in the municipality ) and Sestaione ( 5 of 11 km in the municipality ). The Sestaione flows to Lima on the right side in the municipality after the town of Ponte Sestaione to the Lima itself is the main tributary of the river Serchio, whom he encountered at Bagni di Lucca. Cutigliano located by in the valley of Sestaione (Valle del Sestaione ) and in the upper part of the Val di Lima ( also Valle di Lima)

The nearby towns are Abetone, Bagni di Lucca ( LU), Fanano (MO), Fiumalbo (MO), Piteglio and San Marcello Pistoiese.
History
In the year 997 Cutigliano was a small village and belonged to the municipality of Lizzano.

- Chiesa di San Bartolomeo, Main Church ( Parish ) in the center. Contains Matteo Rosselli 's work Madonna del Rosario, by Giovanni da Sangiovanni the work Circoncisione (1620 ) and by Nicodemo Ferrucci 's work Nascita della Vergine. Other art works are the Madonna del Carmine by Honorius Mariani, San Michele by Alessio Gemignani, Madonna col Bambino, San Giovannino e santi quattro by Giovan Battista Volponi and a Miracle Church of San Bartolomeo of Sebastiano Vini from the year 1570th
- Praetorian Palace ( Palazzo dei Capitani di Montagna ), Palace of the 14th century with 95 coats of arms. Was renewed in the 16th century and equipped with works from the Della Robbia workshop.
- Church of the Madonna di Piazza ( Chiesa della Madonna di Piazza ), built in the 15th century and contains the work of Benedetto Buglioni from the year 1510 ( Madonna with Child ei Santi Antonio Abate e Bernardino da Siena)
- Museo della Gente dell'Appennino Pistoiese, Museum in the district Rivoreta.
