Sami Sandell

Sami Sandell ( born March 1, 1987 in Nokia) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since June 2013 at the Tampere Ilves in the Finnish SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Sami Sandell began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the Finnish first division club Ilves Tampere in which he was active until 2004. He then played two seasons for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Canadian junior Western Hockey League, before he returned to Tampere. For Ilves he gave in the 2006/07 season his debut in the SM- liiga, the top Finnish league. After two and a half years Sandell left the team during the 2008 /09 season to play for their league rivals Espoo Blues. The 2009/10 season he joined LeKi in the Mestis, the Finnish second division. In addition he completed a match for his former team, Iles Tampere of the SM - liiga. In December 2009 he joined IF Troja Ljungby - from the Swedish second division, the HockeyAllsvenskan, to where he stood in the following year and a half on the ice.

For the 2011/12 season he was bound by the Luleå HF of the Elitserien, playing for this club until 2013, before he returned to his hometown club.

Internationally

For Finland, Sandell took part in the U20 Junior World Cup 2007, where he finished sixth with his team.
