Nokia, Finland

Nokia [ nɔkiɑ ] is a city in western Finland. It is located immediately west of the city of Tampere.

Since 1 June 2003, held in the town after a long time features on the Finnish network VR - Yhtymä on their way from Tampere to Pori.

In Nokia 1865 by the engineer Fredrik Idestam ( 1838-1916 ), the company was founded Nokia.

Policy

Nokia is considered as working-class town with traditionally high results for left-wing parties. In the local elections in 2012 succeeded the Social Democrats to replace the conservative National Coalition Party again as the strongest party. The Left Alliance is the third largest party in front of the base Finns and the Greens. With three deputies, the center and the Communists are represented. With 5.9%, the Communist Party in 2012 drove her in a Nokia nationwide best result. Another mandate is held by the Christian Democrats.
