San Benito Municipality

The municipality of San Benito is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality of San Benito is one of five Municipalities of the province Punata. It is bordered on the northwest by the province of Chapare, to the west by the province of Germán Jordán, to the south and southeast by the municipality of Punata and on the northeast by the province Tiraque.

The central location of the municipality is San Benito with 2,029 inhabitants in the central part of the municipality ( 2001).

Geography

The municipality of San Benito is located in the transition zone between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands to the east. The mean average temperature of the region is almost 18 ° C (see climate chart Cochabamba ) and varies only slightly between 14 ° C in June and July and 20 ° C in November. The annual precipitation is about 450 mm, with a pronounced dry season from May to September, with monthly rainfall less than 10 mm, and a humidity from December to February with an 90-110 mm monthly rainfall.
