San Juan- Laventille is a region and administrative unit in Trinidad in Trinidad and Tobago.
Geography
San Juan- Laventille is located north of Trinidad. To the west it borders on Diego Martin, the southwest by Port of Spain and the Gulf of Paria, on the south by Chaguanas and Tunapuna - Piarco to the east. In the north of San Juan- Laventille borders the Caribbean Sea.
San Juan- Laventille is the smallest political region in Trinidad. However, since it includes in the south parts of the capital, agglomeration East -West Corridor, it is also one of the most populous regions. The northern part is dominated by the sparsely populated Northern Range. Major cities in San Juan- Laventille are:

History
By 1990, Trinidad was divided into counties. In the context of an administrative reform ( Municipal Corporations Act No. 21) in 1990, all counties were dissolved and created new administrative units. From parts of the counties of Saint George and Caroni, San Juan- Laventille.
Economy
Since San Juan- Laventille includes parts of the East - West Corridor, a significant aspect of Trinidad's economic performance is provided here. There are many companies in the food and light industry to meet local demand and the supply of the neighboring islands, including the beverage manufacturer Solo Beverages. The service sector is dominated by financial services providers such as banks, insurance companies and many wholesale and retail businesses. Due to the drainage of the Northern Range to the south of the ground along the East - West corridor is very fertile, so have settled a number of farms on the outskirts of the agglomeration. On the north coast, as well as the presence, in the south of the Caroni Swamp is an economic factor to a small extent tourism. A campus of the University of the West Indies is located in St. Augustine.
