San Martín Department, San Juan

The department of San Martín (San Juan ) is located in the heart of the San Juan province in western Argentina is one of 19 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Departamento Angaco, east and south by the Departamento Caucete and to the west by the department of Santa Lucía.

The capital of the department of San Martín (San Juan ) is San Isidro.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 10,140 inhabitants (2001) to 10,689 inhabitants in 2005.
