Geographical location

The Sandlünz is located in the southern Harz in the Southern Harz Nature Park directly south-east of Netzkater (approx. 312 m), which is part of Ilfeld in the community Harztor. He rises above the valley of Bere, in which flows north of the wooded mountain of fire creek and west of the mountain of the Bach shed. Its northern and north-western flank are part of the nature reserve Brandesbachtal. In the southeast the landscape passes over ( 600.6 m), among others, on the Rabenkopf ( 547.4 m) to Poppberg. South of the mountain spur Herzberg is the Gänseschnabel. Western neighbor is beyond the power of Bere mountain with the Dühringsklippe ( 504.8 m).
