Sanna Grønlid

Sanna Gronlid ( born 2 May 1959) is a former Norwegian biathlete.

In the 1980s Gronlid was one of the most successful representatives of the women's biathlon. Unlike many other athletes she was successful in both the Biathlon World Cup and World Championships.

After the victory of her two teammates Gry Østvik and Mette Mestad Sanna Gronlid was in the 1984/85 season in the third season, the third Norwegian, who won the overall World Cup for themselves. In the previous 1983/84 season and the following season 1985/86 Gronlid was each second, in the season 1986/87 third of the overall World Cup. This Gronlid was the first athlete who could be placed in four consecutive seasons among the top three athletes overall.

Gronlid was twice World Champion: In 1985, she won the sprint race from Egg am Etzel, 1987, the single race of Lahti. In addition, the Norwegian achieved two silver medals in the sprint (1984) and Single ( 1985) and a bronze medal in the individual (1986). With the Norwegian season they won in the years 1984-1987, two silver and two bronze medals. Thus Gronlid reached in the first four women's world championships at least two medals, their most successful World Championships they contested in 1985 with a gold and two silver medals.

With a total of two gold, four silver and three bronze medals Gronlid is one of the most successful Norwegian biathletes.

Gronlid was repeatedly victorious at national championships. The 7.5 km sprint she won in 1983 and 1986, from 1985 to 1987 she was with Anita Håkenstad and Siv Bråten Season Champion ( Inger Anita Håkenstad beach place in 1986 ).
