Biathlon World Championships 1986

The 22 Biathlon World Championships ( men ) took place from February 18 to 23, 1986 in Oslo, Norway instead.

The 3rd Biathlon World Championships Women were held jointly with the Junior World Championships from 13 to 16 February 1986 Falun, Sweden.

The originally lying in second place Peter Angerer of the Federal Republic of Germany was disqualified on the basis of suspicion of taking banned, performance-enhancing agents.

The West German team with Herbert Fritz Wenger, Franz Wudy, Peter Angerer and Fritz Fischer was lying in third place, disqualified on the basis of suspicion of consumption of prohibited agents in Angerer and Wudy.
