Dmitri Vladimirovich Vasilyev (biathlete)

Dmitri Vladimirovich Vasilyev (Russian: Дмитрий Владимирович Васильев; born December 8, 1962 in Leningrad) is a former Soviet biathlete and two-time Olympic champion.

At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, he won the Soviet relay to run about 4 x 7.5 km. The individual race over 20km, he finished at No. 32 Four years later at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, he repeated the triumph with the Soviet relay and won his second gold medal. In a single run over 10 km, it came on the 9th place

In 1986, he was also able to win the Biathlon World Championships in Oslo with the relay gold medal and a year later at the World Championships in Lake Placid also with the relay silver medal.
