Jon Istad

Jon Istad ( born July 29, 1937 in Voss, † 17 May 2012) was a Norwegian biathlete.

With the Norwegian season he won the silver medal in the 4 x 7.5 km biathlon at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968. In the Biathlon World Championships 1966, he won the gold medal in the 20 km and thus became world champion.

His son Sverre Istad was as well as his niece Gro Marit Istad - Kristiansen successful biathlete.
