Sarah Rafferty

Sarah Gray Rafferty ( born December 6, 1972 in New Canaan, Connecticut ) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Donna in the legal drama Suits.

Sarah Rafferty was born in 1972 in wealthy New Canaan in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Her father is Michael G. Rafferty Jr., a managing partner of FCM Investment Partners in New York and her mother, Mary Lee Rafferty, working as an English teacher at Sacred Heart, a private high school in Greenwich, Connecticut. Rafferty grew up in Riverside, Connecticut as the youngest of four sisters. During her high school years at Phillips Academy, near Boston, she began the actors with a role in Shakespeare's Richard III.

At Hamilton College in Clinton, New York Rafferty took English and theater studies and graduated magna cum laude. During her undergraduate studies, she attended for a time the University of Oxford. She then studied at the Yale School of Drama Yale University drama and graduated in 1996 with a Master of Fine Arts from.

Rafferty married in June 2001, the Finns Santtu Seppala, whom she had met at Yale University. With him she has two daughters who were born in 2007 and 2011. Since Suits in Toronto is rotated and Rafferty's husband Seppala CIO at Kiitos Capital Management in California, Rafferty lives with her husband and children both on the east and on the west coast of America.

Career

Sarah Rafferty played in several plays in New York, including in off-Broadway theaters such as the Second Stage Theatre Lucille Lortel Theatre or the. On the side of Kathleen Turner and Charles Busch, she starred in the play The Third Story. They also played in many regional theaters in America, such as in South Coast Repertory in California and Shakespeare & Company in Kentucky, where she played Rosalind in As You Like.

For the series The Plays the Thing of the radio NPR they said a number of radio plays.

On television, Rafferty had since 1998, after a supporting role in the TV movie Trinity several guest appearances, including such series as Law & Order, Six Feet Under, Numbers or Brothers & Sisters. With the role as Dr. Casey Matthews in the television series Tremors Rafferty had first time in 2003 a recurring guest role. After many additional guest and supporting roles in series and movies Rafferty in 2011 received the first time a major role in the television series Suits as Donna, the longtime assistant and close friend of the main character Harvey Specter, represented by Gabriel Macht. Rafferty and power are also privately for more than 20 years, good friends.
