Sarnen is a municipality and the capital of the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland.

Geography

The community is located at the northern end of the Sarnersee at 470 meters above sea level. M. The lowest point is the Wichelsee to 459 m above sea level. History

The name " Sarnen " is pre-Celtic in origin and contains the Indo-European root of water or sar flow with the meaning. Culture and Education
