Å arovy

Šarovy ( German Sharov, 1939-1945 Scharau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers south-west of Zlín and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

Šarovy is located in the west of Vizovice mountain country. The village extends below the confluence of the creek Lhotský creek on a slope on the right side of Březnice. North-east rises the Oskorušné (450 m ) in the east of Losky (377 m ) southeast of the Doubí ( 429 m), in the southwest the Hájiny ( 442 m) and in the west the Vrchy (334 m).

Neighboring towns are Karlovice and Lhota in the north, Salas and Bohuslavice u Zlína in the northeast, Strážné, Březůvky, Záhumenice and Doubravy in the east, Paseky and Zlámanec the southeast, Lapac, Svárov and Pec pod in the south, Březolupy and Topolná the southwest, Komarov in the west and Leopoldov, Pohořelice, Újezdy and Oldrichovice in the northwest.

History

The first written record of the fortress and the village Ssarow date from 1360. Owners were the Vladiken of Sarov. The fortress was destroyed in the second half of the 15th century during the power struggles for the throne of Bohemia between Matthias Corvinus and Georg von Podiebrad and devastated the village. 1480 the site was designated as Ssarowa. Jakub of Sarov and Krumsín then let the feasts renew fundamentally and 1532 she was referred to as a castle. At the end of the 16th century Ssarowa has been connected to the rule Březolupy and with this in the 17th century part of the rule Napajedla. Until the mid-19th century Sharov remained subservient always Napajedla.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sharov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Uherské Hradiště. As of 1881 belonging to the Judicial District Napajedla place was called Šarovy and from 1906 as Sarov. 1924 the official name of locality Šarovy has been introduced. After the collection of the Zlín district town, the village was in 1935 assigned to the Zlín Region. From 1950 the congregation to Okres Gottwaldov - okolí and from 1960 was again Okres Gottwaldov, the back bears the name Okres Zlín after the political changes since 1990. Culturally and ethnographically the village belongs to the Moravian Slovakia.
