Saxony state election, 2014

The members of the Saxon parliament elected for a term of 6 - In the state elections in Saxony in 2014 - subject to a pre-term dissolution of the parliament during the current 5th parliamentary term. The election date was set by Parliament Bureau, following the proposal of the Saxon government on 31 August 2014, December 2013. For the election a clean slate of the 60 constituencies applies.

Top candidates

The CDU certain on January 18, 2014, a delegate conference in Dresden, the incumbent Prime Minister and State Chair Stanislaw Tillich with 95.3 %, once again leading candidate.

The left will vote for their top candidates on a " country representatives meeting " on 5 and 6 April 2014 in Leipzig. On 16 November 2013, the party and parliamentary leader Rico Gebhardt was nominated at the 10th National Congress in Leipzig with 64.4 % of the vote for this post.

For the SPD of the party and parliamentary group leader Martin Dulig was elected with 88.75 % for the top candidate on a delegates' conference in Frankenberg.

The FDP voted on February 1, 2014 at a party congress in Lobau with 90.2% of the delegates' votes the party and parliamentary group chairman Holger Zastrow top candidate.

For the Greens, the faction leader Antje Hermenau were elected with 61.8 % and the state chairman Volkmar Zschocke with 87.7 % for the top two on March 8, 2014.

The NPD elected on March 1, 2014, to their state convention in Zwickau- Schlunzig the party and parliamentary group chairman Holger Szymanski top candidate.
