The state election in Saxony in 2004 was the fourth election to the Parliament of Saxony and took place on 19 September 2004.

With a loss of votes of more than 15 percentage points, the CDU since the re- establishment of the Free State of Saxony lost for the first time in 1990, an absolute majority. It formed following the election of a coalition government with the SPD. Georg Milbradt remained Prime Minister. After his resignation Stanislaw Tillich was elected Prime Minister.
