Schöngrund is a municipality in the district of the hinterland of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland.

Schoenengrund is between Schwellbrunn and St. Peter cell or Hemberg. The village has a small ski area. Until 1992, a chair lift to the beautiful Grunder local mountain, the high Hamm.
