Coat of arms

Coat of Arms history The quartered silver and red flag of the Bishopric of Würzburg in the coat of arms of the market Schwarzach comes from the coat of arms of the district town of Schwarz is already mentioned in a document in 1230 and still is the center of the market. The town received city rights in early, but gave them to 1818 and was market. Since the 14th century the seal guide of Stadtschwarzach is occupied. The sign of the seal are two crossed crooks, the sign of the monastery Muensterschwarzach, who owned the local rule at that time. In the 15th century the sign in seal is broken, the front is the Würzburg bishopric flag behind the crossed crooks. Since 1531 the Bishopric of Würzburg has sole lordship. In sealing the 16th century, the shield with a broad cross- bar is busy, which is shown in black in existing coat of arms images. In the 17th century only the high pin flag is passed in the arms. The six red squares in today's coat of arms symbolize belonging to Schwarzach districts. The black cross bar is speaking for the place name. The silver and red are the colors of Franconia. Coat of arms awarded by the government of Lower Franconia on 22 August 1983.
