Schwiesau is a district of the city blocks in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

Schwiesau located 7 kilometers east of blocks, not far from the B 71 towards Salzwedel.

History

Schwiesau was documented in the year 1301 for the first time. In 1588, the rye harvest of the place was destroyed by hail. The damage was so great that the neighboring office blocks, to be leased by Schwiesau in the territory of the Office pastures, oats lease in the amount of 60 bushels issued. Architecturally noteworthy are the built of fieldstone village church Schwiesau and the old school house in the Neo-Gothic style with a main portal from 1906 with a five-fold return.

Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Schwiesau decided on 13 January 2009 that the community Schwiesau is incorporated into the city blocks. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

After incorporation of the previously autonomous municipality Schwiesau was Schwiesau district of the city blocks. For powered finished my community the village constitution according to § § 86 ff.Gemeindeordnung Saxony -Anhalt has been introduced. In the eingemeindeten community and nunmehrigen village Schwiesau a Ortschaftsrat was formed with three members, including mayor.

Sports

The sports club Swallow Schwiesau ( 1951-1990: Tractor Schwiesau ) was founded in 1920. The first Mr. Football team plays in the county league Salzwedel.
