Scuderia Filipinetti

The Scuderia Filipinetti (French also Ecurie Filipinetti ) was a Swiss racing companies. The company's headquarters was in Geneva. Founder and owner was the influential Swiss businessman and Ferrari importer General Georges Filipinetti.

History

The Scuderia Filipinetti walked out of the racing team " 1 ' Equipe Nationale Suisse " out. It was a private Swiss Motorsport team, which was very well known for its enormous success in racing 1962-1973. The Scuderia Filipinetti in 1962 founded by Georges Filipinetti and was one of the first, funded purely by sponsoring race teams. She was considered one of the most prestigious private automobile racing teams in the world. With the successful Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert Scuderia Filipinetti initiated in 1962 its Formula 1 debut.

From 1963 also the talented Swiss driver Herbert Müller drove successful race for the Scuderia Filipinetti. Sage ( until 1970 racing team manager) or Franco Sbarro (then chief mechanic at Filipinetti ), played an important role in the Scuderia Filipinetti. In the early 1970s, as a result of commissioning Filipinettis by the FIAT group, were converted to racing car in a specially opened workshop in Formigine Modena Fiat 128 and successfully driven in numerous races. The once set as a racer in Filipinetti engineer Mike Parkes was the Scuderia workshop responsible for the technical implementation and the line in Formigine. According to financial problems in 1972, the former French oil company Antar involved in Filipinetti, thus the name of the racing company in " Ecurie Antar Filipinetti " has been changed. In March 1973, the last built by Filipinetti racing car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. On May 3, 1973 Georges Filipinetti died unexpectedly. Because of the previous financial problems decided Filipinettis members to close the Scuderia and set on racing. All race cars were sold a short time later.
