Seeed

Seeed is a Berlin Reggae / Dancehall group. It consists of eleven musicians and won three times the echo.

History

The band Seeed was founded based on the concept of " Marching Band " and " mobile reggae Special Operations Command " (see sound system) 1998. At first she was known for the stylistically more unusual instruments such as trumpet and saxophone. However, they developed a preference for heavy bass and produced the computer riddims. The band's name is composed of the sub genre, the first letter of the singer - pseudonyms Enuff, Eased and Ear, and the reggae - dub direction.

In 2000, two years after its founding, Seeed were represented with the play Top of the City, which was released by the Warner label Downbeat out on the Kanak Attack soundtrack to the socially critical film by Lars Becker. On 14 October 2005, the third studio album Next appeared! in Germany and Austria. According to statements made by Seeed several band members worked as producers for this album and not just as a musician. This album contains more different styles. Nevertheless, it was with the fans not only like it but also criticism. For example, some see this album as a step towards the mainstream and therefore considered bad. Others just judged this album positively.

Seeed won the 2006 Federal Vision Song Contest with the song thing. 2006 Album Next! also published in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Portugal.

Seeed played the song Good to know, the global version of Schwinger, at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Football World Cup in Munich and was for nearly 1.5 billion people to see. Since November 2006, the Live DVD is commercially available. Seeed entered at the concert " Make Poverty History " on 7 June 2007 in Rostock.

2008 Seeed spoke as co-signatories of an open letter from the Chancellor on a full-page ad in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the newspaper against the illegal file sharing of copyrighted content.

After a long break the formation in early 2010 worked back in the studio on a joint album. A first song called Molotov level since 8 July 2011, several weeks on their website for free download. On 9 August, the first single Wonderful Life was released on their website and on YouTube. The piece is a cover of the same name published in 1987 by the musician piece Black. On 30 September 2011, finally, both songs appeared together on the EP Molotov / Wonderful Life.

In August 2011 Seeed occurred on four festivals: the Frequency in St. Pölten, the Highfield Festival in Großpösna, the Open Air Gampel, and at Rock am See Konstanz.

On 28 September 2012, the fourth studio album Seeed, which reached # 1 on the German album charts on release immediately appeared. It is the first number-one album of the band. The first single Beautiful celebrated on 31 August at the First German Television Video Premiere.

On November 2, 2012, the video was released for the song eye Bling, which was published on 16 November 2012 as the second single.

The third single, Your time appeared on March 22, 2013. The music video for the single was shot during the Seeed Tour on March 2, 2013 in Chemnitz. It shows the band in a previously announced on the day via Facebook appearance at the Karl Marx Monument.

On tour 2012/2013 Seeed was accompanied by the American drum group " Cold Steel ".
