Selena Gomez & the Scene is an American pop band. It was founded in 2008 in Hollywood, California and consists of the singer Selena Gomez, guitarist Drew Taubenfeld, bassist Joey Clement, drummer Greg Garman and keyboardist Dane Forrest.

Career
2009 - 2010: Kiss & Tell
On 29 September 2009, the band released their first studio album " Kiss & Tell". In Germany, the album was released on 23 April 2010, "Naturally " was released as the first single. In the U.S., the single " Falling Down " was released as the first.
2010 - 2011: A Year Without Rain
The second studio album, A Year Without Rain, was released on 17 September 2010. The album reached number 4 in the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. The first single " Round & Round " was released on June 18, 2010. The video was shot in Hungary and was first broadcast in the American television channel Disney Channel on June 20, 2010. The second single " A Year Without Rain" was on September 3, 2010, after the world premiere of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam first aired in the U.S. Disney Channel. Selena Gomez & the Scene performed their single " Round & Round " live in the broadcasts America's Got Talent, Blue Peter, Daybreak, and MTV's The Seven; " Round & Round " and "A Year Without Rain" in Good Morning America and "A Year Without Rain" live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Lopez Tonight. On 27 October 2010 the band released in collaboration with UNICEF, a charity concert. They also appeared at the Jingle Ball on December 5, 2010. The Spanish version of " A Year Without Rain " was released three months after the publication of the English version.
2011 - 2012: When The Sun Goes Down
On February 15, 2011 Universal Music Portugal announced via Facebook that the third studio album by the band in June 2011 and the single to the album in March 2011 will come out. Selena Gomez later confirmed that the single " Who Says" is hot. " Who Says" was played for the first time in the U.S. radio station KIIS -FM on 8 March 2011 at 07:35. Selena Gomez was for the world premiere of her single all morning to guest in the morning show On Air with Ryan Seacrest with Ryan Seacrest the selfsame radio station in Los Angeles. The music video for the single was first aired on March 11 in the U.S. Disney Channel. The single " Who Says " was released on April 15, 2011. According to a statement from Selena Gomez in an interview, she dedicates the song to all that have ever been made ready or bullied. She was inspired to because she has to endure so-called Hatern threats and insults, since she is dating Justin Bieber. On 17 June 2011, the band released their second single " Love You Like a Love Song", the corresponding music video was released on June 23, 2011 Vevo. In September 2011, Gomez announced that in October the song "Hit the Lights", the band had already played at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2011, to be published as the third single.
Already in March 2012, Gomez announced a new album for winter / spring 2013. In November 2012 it was announced that in March 2013 the album to appear. The first single is scheduled for January 2013. But in March 2013 Gomez announced that she and the band The Scene will take a break and that they will release a solo album in the summer of 2013.
