Šetějovice

Šetějovice ( German Schetejowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 16 km north-west of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Benešov.

Geography

Šetějovice is on the left above the flooded with the drinking water reservoir Švihov Želivkatal in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. South of the valley of the creek Šetějovický is flowing into the reservoir.

Neighboring towns are Budeč in the north, Kožlí in the northeast, Kamenná Lhota in the east, Dolni Rapotice the southeast, SNET in the south, Marti Nice u Dolních Kralovic the southwest, Dolni Kralovice in the west and Zahrádčice and Žibřidovice in the northwest.

History

Šetějovice was originally in the dense forests of the Queen passed Sprengel Swatawa, in the course of its settlement by the Vyšehrad collegiate chapters. The first mention of the village was carried out in 1352 in a certificate of ownership certificate of Charles IV. After the destruction of Vyšehrad by the Hussites received Nicholas Trček of Lipa in 1436 the parish as a gift.

Through various owners reached the village of Johann Leopold Donat of Trautson and Falkenstein, the whole rule Unterkralowitz acquired at the end of the 17th century. He was succeeded in 1766 by Karl Josef Palm Gundelfingen and from 1844 Prince William Vincenz von Auersperg. After the replacement of patrimonial Šetějovice gained independence in 1848.

In 1894 the school building. 1945, the estates of the Prince Auersperg were confiscated. The school now serves as the town hall and the local cultural center. From 1974, the flooding of the valley of Želivka by the dam was Švihov; at the same time the place Žibřidovice was dissolved and flooded. The name was transferred to the Žibřidovice located at the junction Nechyba farms and erected there in 2002, a memorial chapel for the sunken village.
