Seven Sisters station

Seven Sisters is a railway station in the London Borough of Haringey, which includes an underground station of the London Underground. The transport hub, which is served by trains of the Victoria Line and the rail company Abellio Greater Anglia, located in the Travelcard Zone 3, between the main streets of Seven Sisters Road and West Green Road. In 2011, 12.53 million passengers used the subway to the train station, added 2.618 million passengers by rail.

History

The station was opened on 22 July 1872, the Great Eastern Railway, as part of the commissioning of the suburban line between Hackney and Enfield. On January 1, 1878, the so-called Palace Gates Line followed. This was built to compete with a stretch of the Great Northern Railway and led near the Alexandra Palace, a popular tourist destination. British Rail introduced in the course of rationalization measures in passenger transport on this route on January 7, 1963. The corresponding platforms in Seven Sisters were demolished, the tracks removed.

On 1 September 1968 the opening of the first section of the Victoria Line between Walthamstow Central and Highbury & Islington was. The renovation of the station, who received an additional input, but was completed only in December 1968.
