Shake (Software)

Shake was a compositing program, which was used in post-production for processing digital film footage and computer-generated images with image processing effects. The program works with a node - based workflow and supports a color depth of up to 32 bits per channel.

History

Originally Shake was developed by Nothing Real purely as a command-line tool, so without a graphical user interface. On the broadcast NAB Show in Las Vegas available for Microsoft Windows and Linux in 1999 was presented for the first time. In February 2002, Apple purchased Nothing Real on. With the introduction of version 4.1 for Mac OS X in June 2006, Apple officially ended the development of Shake. Since July 30, 2009 forwarded the link to Shake on the Apple website only on the side of Final Cut Studio on. Alternatives to Shake are Nuke by The Foundry, Adobe After Effects, Combustion Autodesk or Blender as an open source alternative.
