Stefanutto in the jersey of Queensland Fury

Shane Stefanutto ( born January 12, 1980 in Cairns ) is an Australian football player of Italian descent. The defender is currently under contract with Brisbane Roar.

Career

Stefanutto played from 1997 to 1998 at the Queensland Academy of Sport, before he had the newcomers in Atherton ( QLD), Saints ( QLD), Edge Hill ( QLD) and played the Southport Warriors. In 1998 he moved to the Brisbane Strikers in the National Soccer League. In 2004 he went to Norway for Lillestrom SK, where among other things Uwe Rösler was his coach. After the contract had expired at Lillestrøm, he continued his career at Premier League rivals Lyn Oslo.

Mid-2009 Stefanutto went back to Australia for newly established A- League team North Queensland Fury. Arriving at the club from Queensland tore him in a seemingly innocuous challenge with Adriano Pellegrino from Perth Glory the anterior cruciate ligament.

On 13 April 2010 Stefanutto signed a contract with Brisbane Roar for the next three seasons.
