Shelton Benjamin
Shelton Albert Benjamin ( born July 9, 1975 in Orangeburg, South Carolina ) is an American professional wrestler and former wrestler. He was known for his appearances with World Wrestling Entertainment under his ring name Shelton Benjamin. Currently, he appears independent, inter alia, in Ring of Honor on.

Career
Background in sports and beginnings
Shelton Benjamin was at his high school times athlete and wrestler. As a sprinter in the 100 meters, he won national titles as a wrestler and he had a combat record of 122 victories in 10 defeats. In his home state of South Carolina, he was also a two-time heavyweight champion. At the University of Minnesota, he became friends with Brock Lesnar, with whom he often trained together. Due to his success in wrestling World Wrestling Entertainment became aware of him and took him under contract. 2000 Benjamin finally debuted as a wrestler.

In the former WWE training league Ohio Valley Wrestling one made out of Benjamin and Brock Lesnar the Tag Team Minnesota Stretching Crew. In February 2001, they won the first time the OVW Tag Team titles, the Benjamin with various partners should still hold three times.
As of 2002, Benjamin graduated already made some appearances for WWE, until he was appointed permanently in the main shows in October.
2003 was allowed to introduce it along with Charlie Haas of Kurt Angle as his protégés. Under Angels guide you competed as Team Angle. After little more than a month they were allowed to defeat the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions Los Guerreros ( Eddie and Chavo Guerrero ) and thus win the title. After WrestleMania was sent Benjamin to broadcast Monday RAW, which the team was disbanded. In his first match he was allowed to surprisingly defeat the top star Triple H and thus become the Face. Then Benjamin has been involved in a feud against this program and its grouping evolution. A day after his first title match to Randy Orton's WWE Intercontinental Championship, which he is not allowed to decide for themselves, Benjamin broke his hand and had to pause for several months. After his return in September, Benjamin took the feud program against the remainders of evolution again.
In the event Taboo Tuesday in October, he was awarded the Intercontinental Champion title against Chris Jericho. On 20 June 2005 he had to give back the title to Carlito.
In January 2006, we wrote him a storyline that his mother, played by the actress Thea Vidale ( an archetype of the Afro- American "Big Momma " ), supported him and occasionally intervened during his matches. Shortly thereafter Benjamin was again turned to the infamous wrestler and now came back to the heel.
The actress, who represented Benjamin's mother had heart problems and had to be written out shortly afterwards from the storyline. From this point, Benjamin appeared as an arrogant villain and denied programs feud with Flair, the Intercontinental title, he won, and Rob Van Dam. This title he lost to Rob Van Dam. Two weeks later, Benjamin was against Rob Van Dam, Triple H and John Cena again the WWE Intercontinental title.
As with his first reign it was finally a raw novice who could pick up the Benjamin Title: In a Triple Threat Match Johnny Nitro won the title. The resulting therefrom feud program of the three men involved to put on the part of WWE for some time away.
Benjamin was now being used more and more rare and often had to occur in the B -show HEAT. In November, he was given the gimmick of a, on the basis of alleged discrimination, frustrated African- American and competed against the tag team Cryme Tyme ( JTG and Shad ). As recently as 2007, Benjamin formed with Charlie Haas again a common tag team.
In November 2007, Shelton Benjamin went to the reactivated in ECW against Tommy Dreamer. There he announced as part of the storyline that he now remained at this, so the tag team was disbanded with Haas again. In ECW Benjamin embodied a selfish heel.
On June 25, 2008 Benjamin moved to Friday broadcast Smackdown. In the big event Great American Bash, which took place in July 2008, Benjamin was allowed the WWE United States Championship win with a victory over Matt Hardy. He now denied a feud with R-Truth program. In the 500th edition of SmackDown, he had to give up his U.S. title to MVP.
On 29 June 2009 it was announced that Benjamin would compete in ECW roster of the WWE again. After several matches, along with Christian against William Regal, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson, he was reinstated as Facebook.
After setting the ECW Brands Benjamin moved to SmackDown. Benjamin could qualify at WrestleMania 2010 for the Money in the Bank ladder match, after defeating CM Punk. But he was abruptly fired from the WWE already on April 22, 2010. But On 8 March 2011, he joined again in a dark match against Curt Hawkins.
Independent
After his release, Benjamin is active in the independent scene. So he takes in Puerto Rico in World Wrestling Council and was allowed there 31 July 2010 win the WWC Universal Championship. Since the September 11, 2010 Benjamin is back with Charlie Haas as the World's greatest tag team in Ring of Honor on the road, which could on 1 April 2011 secure the ROH World Tag Team Championship from the Kings of Wrestling. After the title loss to the Briscoe Brothers on 23 September 2011, they won the title from those on 12 May 2012 in Border Wars back. At Best In The World, they lost the title to The All- Night Express ( Kenny King & Rhett Titus ).
