Shen Buhai

Shen Buhai (Chinese申不害, Pinyin Shen Buhai, Shen Pu -hai W.-G.; * to 385 BC; † 337 BC) - also Shenzi (申 子) - was a philosopher and politician from the old state Zheng of China's Warring States period, which is considered his writings as one of the founders of the doctrine of legalism. He died in the position of Chancellor of the Marquis Zhao of Han Han in the state.

Shen mastered the art of political finesse to enforce a specific policy goal ( Shu术). His philosophy is close to that of Han Feizi of the attributed Daoism Huang -Lao school.

A work Shenzi (申 子) is attributed to him.
