Shikokuchūō, Ehime

Shikokuchuo (Japanese四 国 中央 市, -shi, dt Shikoku center) is a city in Ehime Prefecture on the north coast of the island of Shikoku in Japan.

Geography

Shikokuchuo is located east of Matsuyama and Niihama, and west of Takamatsu.

History

Shikokuchuo was on 1 April 2004 by merging the cities Iyomishima (伊 予 三岛 市, -shi) and Kawanoe (川 之 江 市, -shi), the municipality Doi (土 居 町, chō ), as well as the village of Shingu (新 宫 村, -mura ) of the district Uma founded. The county was thereupon be dissolved.
