Siestrzechowice

Siestrzechowice [ ɕɛst.ʃɛχɔv iʦɛ ʲ ] ( German Grunau ) is a village in the town and rural municipality of Nysa ( Neisse ) in the powiat Nyski the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

The village is located 75 kilometers south of Wroclaw and 5 kilometers south-west of the county and township seat Nysa, directly on the shore of the Jezioro Nyskie ( Neisser reservoir), northeast of the village which opens into the Biała Głuchołaska ( Bielefeld ).

History

Siestrzechowice in 1284 as Grunow and 1310 and 1375 mentioned as Grunaw. It belonged to the principality of Neisse, imputed the Breslau Bishop Preczlaw of Pogarell 1342 as a fief of the crown of Bohemia, who came in 1526 to the Habsburg dynasty. The population of the village remained after the Reformation almost entirely Catholic, and was the parish after Köppernig.

1592 transferred the Breslau Prince Bishop Andreas von Jerin the Good Grunau his nephew, the Neisser episcopal Hofrichter Andreas von Jerin and his wife Barbara Meczker. Then came 1593 nor the Vorwerk of Kaspar rust ( Roßhof ) in the possession of Jerin. From 1593 to 1594 he was here a Renaissance castle ( Schloss Grunau ) build. Until 1730 Grunau remained - now Knight village - in the possession of those of Jerin and then came to the family Strachwitz, the Grunau in 1743 left the Episcopal Hospital to top Neisse.

After the First Silesian War in 1742 Grunau coincided with the greater part of the principality of Neisse to Prussia. After the reorganization of the province of Silesia rural community Grunau belonged from 1816 to the district Neisse in the district of Opole. 1819 was the village school. 1874 The municipality formed Grunau included the rural communities Blumenthal, Grunau and small breezes and the estate districts Blumenthal, Grunau, Klein Briesen and Klein Briesen, forestry and Colonie Heidenau.

After the Second World War in 1945 Grunau part of Poland and the remaining German population was expelled. Temporarily Grunau was renamed Izdebka until 1947 the current location name Siestrzechowice has been introduced. In 1971, the Nysa Kłodzka ( Glatzer Neisse ) in the 22 km ² Neisser was dammed reservoir. While Siestrzechowice was now on the shores of this new lake, raided other places such as the former Grunau Colony Roßhof ( Rościsław ) the reservoir to the victim. 2009, the village was channeled.

Siestrzechowice now belongs to the city and rural municipality of Nysa.

Attractions

  • The Grunau Castle, Bishop Andreas von Jerin 1593-1594 for his nephew, the Neisser Hofrichter Andreas built by Jerin in Renaissance forms. It brings a colorful fresco cycle of 86 coats of arms of nobility of the Principality of Neisse.
  • The Nepomuk statue in the village was erected in 1726 according to the inscription.

Economy and infrastructure

Siestrzechowice is shaped continues to be agricultural. 1978 were located next to a state farm (PGR ) 44 farms in the village. Their number fell to 22 in 1988, when 53% of the population were engaged in agriculture. The decline of agriculture continued after the turn, so that today three farms in the agricultural activities. A high unemployment and emigration from the village are the consequences. The poor economic situation had a significant impact on the townscape. Numerous barns remained unused and were demolished as a result, some of the buildings are in a dilapidated condition, especially the Renaissance castle, which is one of the most important buildings in the area, but increasingly forfeited.
