Simon Parke

Simon Parke ( born October 8, 1972 in Oakham ) is an English former squash player.

Career

In August 1988, Simon Parke began his professional career. Already in the juniors get him great successes, such as winning the World Junior Championship in 1990 against David Campion. Among his greatest successes in the active region include winning the World Team Cup in 1995 and 1997 with the England team as well as several titles at the European Championships. He stood beyond at numerous other championships in the squad, such as in the World Team Championship in 1999. 1998 he was British champion in 1999, he won against Jonathon Power, the U.S. Open. In the seasons of 1998 and 2000 he stood each in the finals of the Super Series, but lost both times against Jansher Khan and Peter Nicol. At the 1998 Commonwealth Games, he won jointly with Suzanne Horner bronze in the mixed doubles. In his career he reached third place in October 2000, his highest placing in the world rankings. In December 2006, he announced his retirement from international squash sport.

Private

In December 1995 she was diagnosed with Simon Parke testicular cancer. There followed a surgical intervention followed by chemotherapy in January 1996. In May 1996, he again took part in tournaments. Simon Parke was married between 2002 and 2003.
