Simone Collio

Simone Collio (born 27 December 1979 Cernusco sul Naviglio ) is an Italian athlete who with the Italian 4-by- 100 - meter relay team won the silver medal at the European Championships 2010.

His first international finals participation reached Collio at the World Indoor Championships in 2004 when he ran s to seventh place about 60 meters in 6.60. At the Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in the 100 meters in the quarterfinals, with the Italian season he missed the final. At the European Indoor Championships 2005 Collio finished fifth in 6.66 s. Collio in 2004 and 2005 by Italian masters over 60 meters in the hall and 100 meters outdoors. It then took until 2009 until he was champion again. In the intervening years he was true of most major events at the start, but did not reach the final. So he had gone in advance of the World Indoor Championships 2008 in Valencia in 6.55 s Italian record, but excreted in the semifinals with 6.74 s. At the Olympic Games in Beijing, he reached as four years before the quarter-finals in the 100 meters and was eliminated in the relay in the run- off.

At the 2009 World Championships Collio reached the final with the Italian season; in the occupation of Roberto Donati, Collio, Emanuele Di Gregorio, Fabio Cerutti and the squadron ran in 38.54 s on the sixth place. The following year, Collio reached at the European Championships 2010 finals in the 100 -meter run, broke there but because of his race from injury. The Season with Donati Collio, Di Gregorio and Maurizio Checcucci reached the final four days later and ran there with Italian national record of 38.17 s to second place behind the French squadron.

Collio has a competition weight of 73 kg at a height of 1.80 m. Collio starts for the Roman club Fiamme Gialle.
