Simone Plé-Caussade
Simone Plé - Caussade ( born August 14, 1897 in Paris; † August 6, 1986 in Bagneres -de- Bigorre ) was a French composer, pianist and music teacher.
Simone Plé - Caussade studied at the Paris Conservatory with Alfred Cortot, Henri Dallier and Georges Caussade (1873-1936), her future husband. In 1928 she took over her husband's class at the Conservatory. Her students included, inter alia, Jean- Etienne Marie, Makoto Shinohara, Tolia Nikiprowetzky, Serge Nigg, Betsy Jolas, Gilbert Amy, Herbert de Castro, Jean -Louis Petit, Bruce Mather, Pierre Gabaye, Noël Lancien and Monique Cecconi - Botella.
She composed church music, songs, organ pieces, choral works, chamber music and two collections of piano pieces for children.
