Simpelveld

( Listen? / I ) simpelveld, in the local dialect Zumpelveld, is a Dutch municipality in the province of Limburg. In addition to the main town Simpelveld there are the districts Bocholtz and Molsberg.

There were up to 1992 in Simpelveld a railway station ( located at the Aachen- Maastricht), but was closed due to low passenger travel. Now the track is owned by the million line, which only offers a Sunday tourist train and additionally summer special trips. In the station of Simpelveld is the headquarters of the millions line.

Simpelveld is located in the South Limburg hills, the Mergelland. In a Roman villa rustica near Simpelveld the famous sarcophagus of Simpelveld was found.
