Šípkové

Sipkove ( until 1927 slovak " Sipkove "; Hungarian Csipkés - to 1907 Sipko ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 316 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Piešťany, part of Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in the northern part of the hill country Trnavská pahorkatina (part of the Slovak Danube lowland ) at the transition into the Little Carpathians. Right through the village flows the brook Šípkovec. The center is located at an altitude of 216 meters above and is 4.5 km from Vrbove and 15 kilometers away from Piešťany.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1349 as Sypko in writing, before writing was only the Bach Sipco ( 1113 ) is known. 1828 are listed 62 houses and 433 inhabitants.

Until 1918, belonged to the lying in the county Neutra place the Kingdom of Hungary and came after Czechoslovakia and Slovakia today.

1975-1992 Sipkove was part of the city Vrbove.
