Skipp Sudduth
Skipp Sudduth (Robert Lee Sudduth IV, born August 23, 1956 in Wareham, Massachusetts) is an American theater, film and television actor. A wider public, he is known by the movie Ronin, in which he starred alongside Robert De Niro starred.
Life
Sudduth was born as the son of an engineer and a nurse. He attended George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia, where he graduated in 1976. Hoping to become a doctor, he earned at Hampden - Sydney College an academic degree in biology and worked for a year in an emergency room. Influenced by these experiences, he decided to cancel the study of medicine and instead to get a degree in theater acting at the University of Virginia.
After graduating, he joined the Chicago Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He starred in the play The Grapes of Wrath and in adaptations of On the Waterfront and A Clockwork Orange with. In 1999, he starred alongside Kevin Spacey in the Broadway production of The Iceman Cometh and 2003 alongside Paul Reiser in Woody Allen's first performance of the play Riverside Drive. He also met with Helen Hunt on in the play Twelfth Night at Lincoln Center.
His film career began with small roles in films such as Studio 54 and Spike Lee's Clockers. He also starred in the films Ronin and Spotless, both times alongside Robert De Niro.
Sudduth was known primarily for his role in the television series Third Watch, which he played from 1999 to 2005. Since he directed the episode Collateral Damage Part II Director, he was a member of the Directors Guild of America. Sudduth had before and even after numerous guest appearances in television series such as Law & Order, Oz - hell behind bars, Trinity, Viper and Mad About You. Overall, he has appeared in over 40 productions.
Sudduth is also active as a singer and songwriter; his rock band Minus Ted ( in his brother Kohl Sudduth is a member) has already released two albums. He also appeared as a standup comedian and borrowed various cartoon characters his voice.
Skipp Sudduth was married twice. Both marriages ended in divorce. He lives in New York City.
