Skyharbor

Skyharbor is a multinational progressive metal band, whose members are from India, United Kingdom and the United States of America come from. The guitarist Keshav Dhar started the band in 2008 under the name Hydrodjent, which was inspired by the emerging Djent scene.

History

Development (up to 2009)

The band started as an instrumental solo project of musician originating from India Keshav Dhar. This already was six years old the first time in contact with music when his parents taught him to play the piano. Collaborations with other musicians & first live shows (2010-2011)

As Dhar worked on his first studio album, contacted him in October 2010, Daniel Tompkins, former singer of the band TesseracT, via the online community MySpace and showed up at his music interested. He offered him to contribute to his album with a guest appearance in song Dhars Order 66. Dhar sent him a large selection of songs, of which Tompkins was so excited that he took over the vocals on seven of the ten songs from the forthcoming album. In February 2011, announced Dhar to have renamed his project in Skyharbor because Djent was increasingly seen as a genre of its own and no longer had the importance of onomatopoeia. A little later the former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman became aware of Dhar 's music project and made two guest appearances in the songs Catharsis and Celestial his contribution to the album. In return Dhar contributed during the recording of Friedman 's solo album Tokyo Jukebox 2.

The end of October, 2011, Dhar known that a native of the United States drummer Anup Sastry had joined the band. Publication of Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos (2012 )

On April 23, 2012, the debut album Blinding White Noise was: Illusion & Chaos released on Basick Records in Europe, Australia and India. A day later it was available through Prosthetic Records in North America. The idea for the name of the album came from the lyrics of the first song dots. The album was divided into two CDs: the first, Illusion, contained the seven songs on which Daniel Tompkins participated. The second CD called Dhar chaos. It contained three other songs, to which the Indian musician Sunneith Revankar the band Bhayanak toll, which was once touted as a regular singer of Skyharbor, the song took over. Further development (since 2013)

End of June 2013 the band won a total of eight awards at the Metal Awards of the Indian edition of Rolling Stone. Style

Inspired by the solo project Bulb Misha Mansoor and Acle Kahneys TesseracT, Keshav Dhar came up with the idea at home on your own PC to compose using his guitar and various computer programs own music on which the songs on Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos based, their origin partly to its appearance dates back four years. All instruments, which can be heard on the debut album, Dhar produced at home on his own computer.
