Slovenska Bistrica

Slovenska Bistrica ( German: Windisch- Feistritzwerke ) is a municipality and a city in the Lower Styria region in Slovenia.

In the overall community consisting of 77 villages and hamlets around 24 627 people live, the city Slovenska Bistrica itself then has 7,603 inhabitants. The community is located south of Maribor.

Slovenska Bistrica is one of the oldest towns in Slovenia. Of particular interest is the castle Windisch Feistritzwerke that dominates the entire western part of the old town. The result is this castle is a castle, which was first mentioned in 1311. After conversions, especially from 1623 to 1651 the castle was given the castle character. The present form came from the family Attems ( 1717-1945 ). Today it houses a museum, including a memorial room for Anton Ingolič.
