Municipality of Trnovska Vas

Trnovska vas ( German Ternovetzdorf ) is a city and a municipality in the Lower Styria region in Slovenia.

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of seven villages and hamlets 1311 people live. The main town Trnovska vas alone has 312 inhabitants and lies at 229 m in the Slovenske gorice, east of Ptuj.

History

Trnovska vas to 1995 was incorporated into the municipality of Ptuj. After that she made with Destrnik own community. Already in 1997, this community was fragmented again. Since then Trnovska vas is independent.

Worth seeing

In the district of Trnovo is the over 200 year old farm Simonic Homestead. From this type of the farmhouse there are very few in Slovenia.
