Podlehnik

Podlehnik ( German: Lichtenegg ) is a municipality in the Lower Styria region in Slovenia.

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of 13 villages and hamlets in 1945 people. The main town Podlehnik has alone 3401 inhabitants and lies at 229 m in the wine -growing region Haloze, south of Ptuj, on the Croatian border.

History

The oldest finds date back to the Bronze Age. It was found in the room Podlehnik polished stones as ax and hammer. In the Middle Ages in the area was an important trade route from the Drauebene to Croatia. 1248, the village was first mentioned.
